What exactly should I do after downloading the official CBSE BST sample paper and marking scheme?

How do I use the marking scheme to write answers that fetch full marks?
Break answers into numbered points, use headers/underlining for each concept, and try to use the terminology used in the marking scheme/NCERT. For case studies, write: (a) concept identified, (b) brief justification from the case line, (c) final answer. Avoid long paragraphs—examiners award marks point-wise.

Aim to finish the first pass by 2:45 on the clock.
How long should my answers be vs. the word limits?
3 marks: ~50–75 words (3 crisp points)
4 marks: ~150 words (4 solid points with brief justification)
6 marks: ~200 words (5–6 points with micro-explanations/case tie-backs)
Going far beyond the limit wastes time and rarely earns extra marks.
How do I crack case-study questions in BST?
Use the SIR routine:
Scan the case for keywords (functions, principles, styles),
Identify the chapter concept asked,
Respond with (i) concept name, (ii) 1–2 lines from the case as evidence, (iii) final inference/solution.
